Introducing the Cast & Creatives for our Virtual Reading of "Cooties"!

Alexandrew Recore (Playwright) is an LA-based writer and mother of zero considering grad school because what else do you do in quarantine? Alexandrew holds a degree in theatre studies with a minor in creative writing and was recently a quarterfinalist in the BlueCat Screenplay Competition. This is the third production of Cooties, and doggonit, they just keep getting better!

Mitchell Matyas (Markus) - Originally from Waukesha, Wisconsin, Mitchell is a New York based actor. Recent credits include: Kinky Boots US National Tour (Ensemble/ U.S Don). Regional: Kinky Boots (Ensemble/U.S Don, Ogunquit Playhouse ), La Cage Aux Folles (Jean-Michel, Numerica PAC), Little Women (Laurie, Gateway by the Bay), South Pacific (Stewpot, National Dance Institute). Arius West (Donny) graduated from the University of Central Florida with his bachelor’s in Theatre and Education with a concentration in Stage Combat. He seasonally works in Entertainment at Sea World and he is a teaching artist and performer with The Orlando Repertory Theatre. Arius is also a coach for a high school step team, he serves as a lead & assistant teaching artist for Michelee Puppets & ArtReach Orlando, respectively, that integrate the arts within school curriculum, and he joined The Orlando Magic’s coed Hip Hop Dance team, The 407. Considering the impact of Covid-19 on all of this, Arius now spends a lot of his free time virtually connecting & collaborating with other artists and helping with producing content for virtual productions & performances and more!

Colleen Bowes (Director) is a director and writer based in NYC. She most recently directed HARP Theatricals devised song cycle The Lady Power Project. Previous credits include excerpts from For the Love Of (or, the roller derby play) and Apparition (An Uneasy Play of the Underknown).

Asel Swango (Rebecca) graduated from Otterbein University in 2017 with a B.F.A in Acting. Asel recently played Warwick in Joan of Arc, at Under St.Marks as well as Shopgirl in High School Coven at Corkscrew Theatre Festival. Asel is very excited to be a part of this virtual project!

Alphonse Gonzales (Rudy) - Is currently quarantined in the sunny shores of New Jersey with his family. Alphonse would like to thank Hayden and HARP Theatricals for providing a space for the arts to continue during the pandemic. It is important to continue to acknowledge that this is a time to flourish, listen and power on. He would love to thank his Telsey Intern Family (the best group they ever had) for being with me, standing with me, and for believing in me. I love you guys. Rikki Ziegelman (Shayla) - is an NYC based performer, producer and journalist, and is also the Co-Founder of HARP Theatricals.. She graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2018 with degrees in Musical Theatre & Journalism. Past theatrical credits include American Idiot & Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson (JustArt Theatricals), Evelyn: A New Musical (Dixon Place), and the world premiere of The Sisters of Aerilon. Mia Massaro (Carly) is currently an actor living in New York City. She received her BA from Marymount Manhattan College for Theatre Arts with a minor in Musical Theatre and concentration in Performance in May of 2019. Since graduating she has performed at Hershey Park in the show Now Recording where she played Deena. She also appeared as Charlotte in the first workshop performance or the new Motley Crue musical, Nikki Sixx: The Heroin Diaries.
